Welcome to the Uralla RSL Sub Branch

12th March 2015

Member for New England, The Hon. Barnaby Joyce MP recently announced that the Uralla RSL Sub Branch received a grant of $1,650 through the Anzac Centenary Grants Programme to restore the Memorial Gates in Alma Park.

Part of the restoration work was to install a plaque on the gates to commemorate those who enlisted from Uralla to fight in World War I. The plaques, which were cast at Uralla’s unique Phoenix Foundry, were in place for the town’s Anzac Day 100th anniversary commemoration.

RSL Sub-Branch President Jeff Scott said the plan however, was to remove the plaques, paint the gates and then re-install them for a rededication ceremony around the November 11 Remembrance Day service.
